I’m here to equip you with all the motivation and inspiration you need to get started on your solo travel journey, as well as provide you with the practical tips and resources needed to become a confident female globetrotter like myself.
But first, how did I begin?
I knew I wanted so much more than just the regular 9-5 after graduating. I whimmed to see the world but had no idea how. By focusing on taking small steps, I was able to go from exploring my hometown to jetsetting across the world as a solo female traveler.

Global Traveler
I started Her Nomadic Bliss as a way to inspire and share my experience as a solo female traveler with others aspiring to one day start their journey, or who may have already taken the leap!
Life Before Travel
Like many, I clung to the idea that a happy life was achieved by getting a degree, securing a corporate role, buying a house, and building a family. But, post-graduation, I quickly realized how unfulfilling that story of success society has engrained in me was. I finally felt how restricting and ignorant it was- and I wanted more. I saw my ticket to breaking from its ropes of restraint when I viewed one specific YouTube video.
Cue TrustedHouse Sitters
After graduating, I delved through the internet for budget travel opportunities to discover ways I could make my dream a reality. That was when I found a woman who raved about how she swore she had uncovered the ultimate travel hack- Housesitting. Through a verified platform, she was able to stay in beautiful homes across the world for absolutely free. In exchange, she would look after the homeowner’s pets. It sounded like a good gig to me, especially as she worked as a digital nomad! I was hooked and promised myself that one day, I would travel by housesitting.
Leaning into faith instead of fear…
When the fear of regret finally became bigger than the fear of failure, that was when I finally had the motivation to take action
The First Leap
I was able to easily secure a remote role in recruitment after graduating, but my overwhelming fears and doubts would hold me back from securing any housesits.
But after two years, I finally grew tired of being scared and afraid. Soon, I became more uncomfortable with the idea of regret- of having never even tried.
I had doubts about the legitimacy of the TrustedSitters Platform, I had concerns about how I’d be able to fend for myself while traveling alone.
But by doing my research and leaning into faith, I was finally able to apply to and secure my first house… and it was only 40 minutes from home.
The Second Leap
The success experienced after each completed Housesit was encouraging for me to continue applying to sits farther from home each time. I advanced from a 40-minute distance to a 4-hour drive, to eventually whole plane flights away. Each one filled me with greater confidence and allowed me to experience so many opportunities unique to the locations I visited. With laptop and luggage in hand, I felt capable of traveling to any of my country’s 50 states.
The Third Leap
My ultimate test of faith came in March 2023. The timeline of my life was forever changed after experiencing a number of adversities. The first was a layoff- completing halting my housesitting nomadic dreams. I felt lost and confused regarding the direction I was suppose to go from there.
The second was a car accident-life threatening and eye opening. It was a miracle I was alive, even more, how I walked away completely unscratched.
But my faith only grew stronger after these events- intuitively knowing something better was on the horizon and confident the universe was always protecting me- no matter where I was.
It was the push I needed to see I no longer had anything holding me back, literally and figuratively. And, my views on how valuable and fleeting my life truly is was all the motivation I needed to see- it was time to go after my big dream of traveling the world.
I packed as much as I could in a suitcase and bought a one way ticket to Europe. With a few items in my bag and a whole lot of faith in my heart, I set out for global travels.
Successful Global Travels
After 6 straight months of being on the road, I finally returned home in January 2024. I felt completely different than the nervous girl who first boarded that plane back in July 2023. I had no idea of all the wonderful countries I would visit, the beautiful souls I would meet, or the unforgettable moments I would create along the way. It allowed me to develop a deeper perspective of the world I live in, the life I live, and the person I truly am. It was the absolute best time of my life- and it’s why I continue traveling.
