Before you start your 1 month Thailand itinerary
Check Travel Requirements
Before embarking on your adventure to Thailand, it’s crucial to check the travel requirements needed for entry.
With varying regulations and guidelines in place, ensuring you have all the necessary documents and permissions beforehand can save you from unexpected hassles and delays.
From visa requirements to COVID-19 protocols, taking the time to research and verify the entry requirements will help you start your journey smoothly and with peace of mind.
Travel Requirement Checklist
Questions to ask yourself:
- Need to purchase an outgoing flight from Thailand before entering Thailand?
- Visa needed for under 30 days?
- Visa needed for 30 days or more?
- Proof of vaccination?
- Covid Insurance?
- Quarantine necessary?
- Passport with at least 6-month validity?
- Travel Insurance needed?
- Hotel Booking Confirmation needed?
When to visit Thailand
I visited Thailand from mid-October to mid-November and had the chance to experience wonderful weather.
Look into Thailand’s rainy and busy seasons, and from there prioritize what kind of experience you’d like to have while traveling in Thailand.
Whether or not you mind the crowds and higher prices, but ideal weather 24/7. Or lesser crowds, a bit cheaper prices, and still have decent weather all around.
I recommend checking out Rick Jordan’s post, from Condé Nast Traveler, where he breaks down the best times to visit the country based on weather conditions and tourist crowds.
Purchase travel insurance
I know it’s tempting to think you’ll be fine and shouldn’t buy travel insurance to save yourself a few bucks. But I promise you, yes, you do need it.
No one who has ever used travel insurance thought to themselves, “Wow, I couldn’t wait to use my travel insurance.” That’s because no one is looking to intentionally get hurt… until they do.
I can reassure you, that I had zero intentions of stepping on a sea urchin when indulging myself in Phi Phi Island’s crystal clear waters. But, you bet I was immensely grateful for purchasing travel insurance with World Nomads before my trip. They helped me in obtaining treatment and fully reimbursed me after the incident.
So, before jetting off to your Thailand adventure, don’t overlook this crucial step: purchase yourself some travel insurance.
While it isn’t the most exciting part of trip planning, having comprehensive coverage can offer invaluable protection and peace of mind throughout your journey. From medical emergencies to trip cancellations and lost baggage, travel insurance ensures you’re financially safeguarded against unforeseen events.
Take the time to explore your options and invest in a policy that suits your needs before embarking on your trip to protect yourself from any curveballs that may come your way.
Scams!
It’s crucial to research common scams that tourists may experience. Educating yourself on these scams, from overpriced tuk-tuk rides to fake gem scams, will help you navigate Thailand with confidence and avoid potential pitfalls.
I recommend reviewing the 11 top tourist scams here.
But, the top one I heard several backpackers fall for was #6. Tourists will often be told that a certain attraction is closed when it isn’t- specifically, it would be the temple of the Golden Buddha (Wat Traimit). Then, locals would offer to take them on an overpriced tour instead.
Thai Culture
Before embarking on your journey to Thailand, take a moment to develop at least a basic understanding of Tai culture. Understanding a bit about Thai customs, traditions, and social norms can greatly enhance your travel experience and show respect for the local culture.
From respecting the monarchy to proper etiquette when visiting temples, a little research goes a long way in ensuring a smooth trip. So, immerse yourself in the vibrant culture of Thailand and prepare to embrace the warmth and hospitality of the Thai people during your travels.
Getting around Thailand
This Southeast Asia version of Uber is available in big cities like Bangkok, but not so much on the islands. Ensure to download the app here so you can easily hail a car or scooter when needed.
- Scooters
Whether in the big cities or small islands, you’ll be sure to spot many scooters during your time in Thailand. You might ride one after hailing a Grab ride, or perhaps rent one to ride for the day as I had during my time in Koh Samui!
- Tuk Tuk
A Tuktuk ride- the heart of any authentic Thailand experience. You must bargain with a local on an agreed-set price before exploring the city in this open-air vehicle.
- Plane
Flights can be taken to cover farther areas in a shorter time frame. You can purchase tickets from Fly Bangkok to get from the city’s capital to its islands.
- Ferry
Ferry rides can help transfer you from one island to another that are relatively closer in distance to one another. you can either purchase them on 12Go Asia or in person at the local ferry office.
- Bus
Buses can be used to travel from one major city to the next. I used a bus to transfer from Chiang Mai to Bangkok. They can also be purchased on 12Go Asia or in person at the local bus office.
- Overnight Train
Overnight train rides that stretch from one city to another can also be booked on 12Go Asia or in person at the local train office.

Day 1-2: Arrive in Bangkok
How and when to arrive in Bangkok?
If you are flying into the country, you’ll most likely land in one of its well-known international airports. This will either be Bangkok- Don Mueang Airport (DMK) or Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK).
I recommend arriving in Bangkok as early as possible to make the most of your first day there. We won’t have too much time to explore Bangkok since we will take full advantage when we return to the city right before departing from the country to head back home.
What to expect in Bangkok?
Touching down in Bangkok marks the beginning of your exhilarating adventure through Thailand. You’ll most likely be arriving from either of its two international airports, which is mainly why we start our journey in this city.
As one of Southeast Asia’s most vibrant and dynamic cities, Bangkok offers a sensory overload of sights, sounds, and flavors just waiting to be discovered. From the bustling markets of Chinatown to the awe-inspiring temples scattered across the city, Bangkok invites you to immerse yourself in its rich culture and lively atmosphere.
So, as you step off the plane and into the bustling streets of Bangkok, get ready to embark on a journey filled with excitement, exploration, and unforgettable experiences.
Since we will be returning to Bangkok to depart from the country and head back home, we will take advantage of that time to fully explore the city.

Days 2-4: Koh Phagnan
Transportation from Bangkok to Koh Samui to Koh Phangan
Transportation from Bangkok to Koh Phagnan can be done by taking a one-hour plane flight from Bangkok to Koh Samui and then embarking on a 45-minute ferry ride from Koh Samui to Koh Phagnan.
Pro tip: You may be wondering why not spend a night or two in Koh Samui. I did. And I deeply regret not having spent that time in one of Thailand’s other precious islands. It doesn’t offer as much as what I had experienced in its other islands. Do yourself a favor I didn’t know of at the time to do- skip this island. Koh Samui is merely a necessary point of transfer to get to our next two islands.
What to expect while in Koh Phangan?
While I didn’t personally get to experience this wonderful island, I heard from many other fellow backpackers along my route that this island is remarkably beautiful.
It is the 5th largest island and offers a plethora of activities- be it for a luxury vacationer, backpacker, or family. This island is infamous for its wild monthly moon parties but also has various locations where people can indulge in peace and tranquility. This may be at one of its ample beaches, or perhaps Yoga classes.
Either way, be prepared for a diverse scene of people from all backgrounds coming to experience the beauty and adventure this island has to offer.
Where to stay in Koh Phangan?
A hostel I’d highly recommend staying at would be the Wanderlust Hostel. It has over 1200 reviews and holds an 8.6/ 10 star rating. It provides an ideal location right next to the pier and hosts numerous social activities to help backpackers connect.
Their hostel also boasts many attractive amenities, such as a pool and air-conditioned dorms. It also provides different kinds of dorm styles, from capsule to non-capsule beds, or if you’re looking for female-only dorms, you will also be able to book that here.
Numerous reviews comment on the property’s welcoming atmosphere, friendly staff, and comfortable dorms. I can confidently recommend the Wanderlust Hostel to elevate your experience while visiting Koh Phangan.
What to do in Koh Phangan?
Koh Phangan Checklist:
- Attend Full Moon Party
- Angthong National Marking Park
- Amsterdam Sunset Bar
- Ban Thai Night Market
- Secret Beach
- Snorkel
- Kayak
- Scuba Diving
- ATV Tour
- Jungle Hike
- Waterfalls
- Apichada Viewpoint
- Thai Cooking Class
My personal experience and thoughts on Koh Phangan.
Although I didn’t stay in Koh Phangan, I heard so many wonderful things about it from other backpackers I met along my one-month backpacking route in the country. I had initially decided to omit the destination when creating my itinerary because I assumed it would solely be a party-vibe island. As someone who isn’t big into partying, it didn’t appeal to me as much to dedicate a spot for it on my one-month itinerary.
However, throughout my Thailand trip, I learned from others how much more the island can offer other than unforgettable party experiences.
I would’ve loved to have taken advantage of the spiritual and mindful environments one can find on the island, be it through yoga classes, meditations, or even spiritual retreats.
Koh Phangan is infamous for hosting the well-known Full Moon Party every month. It is a huge celebration where over 10,000 visitors from all over the world come together and indulge in a lively and free atmosphere under the light of the full moon. It’s an event on millions of people’s bucket list. And, although it was on mine, and you can probably cross it off if you come to the island at the right time.
Days 4- 9: Koh Tao Island
Transportation from Koh Phangan to Koh Tao
You’ll need to book a 1.5-hour ferry ride to go from Koh Phangan to Koh Tao. You can either do this online with 12Go Asia or in person at a local travel office.
What to expect while in Koh Tao?
While it’s probably one of the smallest islands on this one-month itinerary, Koh Tao offers a wide variety of possibilities to explore each day.
I loved spending idle afternoons eating takeout on its white sand beaches and simply admiring its blue water intensify as the sun set along its edge.
Where to stay in Koh Tao?
My accommodation was with Slumber Party Koh Tao where I stayed in a 6-bedroom female dorm. I can highly recommend this resort/hostel, as it ticked off everything I could want from an accommodation.
My main reason for booking it initially was due to its prime location being right at the foot of the ocean. It’s also located where all the stores and activities on the island are, but its villa-styled layout allows you to get an easy night’s rest as you are far out of reach from the lively streets.
It’s a very social hostel, rather than a party hostel. But, it has party hostels located right in front of it. So, if you’re looking for the party vibe but still want a good night’s rest- this hostel is the exact gem you’re looking for.
Slumber Party also offers paddle boarding at a really good rate, as well as discounted tours I made sure to take advantage of during my time there.
What to do in Koh Tao?
Koh Tao Checklist:
- Khao Tao and Koh Nang Yuan Snorkel Tour
- John Suwan Viewpoint
- I Love Koh Tao Viewpoint
- Muay Thai Class
- Paddle Board
- Scuba Diving
- PADI Open Water Diving course
- PADI Freediving course
My personal experience and thoughts on Koh Tao
I absolutely loved Koh Tao and can’t rave about it enough. It’s a small island that’s easily walkable to get to anywhere you may need, but scooters are also available for rent if you’d like to coast your way along its streets instead.
It offers scenic viewpoints for nature enthusiasts and a lively nightlife for party lovers. It had a small family-owned restaurant that served the best food and shakes I had tried in the whole country. Please go visit Mamas and order the Pad Thai for me.
Koh Tao is a destination popular among the backpacker community, therefore making it super easy to meet and connect with other fellow travelers.
1 Month in Thailand itinerary: South Thailand- West Coast Island Hopping
Days 9-12: Khao Sok
Transportation from Koh Tao to Khao Sok National Park, Surat Thani
To travel from Koh Tao Island to Khao Sok you need to take a ferry from Koh Tao Mae Had Pier to Don Sak Pier (note: your ferry will likely make a stop at Koh Phangan). This ride will take a total of about 3.5 hours. You will then take a minibus from the pier to Surat Thani, which will be close to a 3-hour ride.
Do not stress, you don’t have to purchase each mode of transportation separately. Visit 12Go Asia and input your desired route from Koh Tao to Surat Thani. You’ll be able to easily purchase all of the bookings together.
What to expect while in Khao Sok National Park?
There isn’t much to do in the city of Surat Thani, where most of the accommodations are located. The real star here is visiting Khao Sok National Park, which you arrive at via the tours offered by nearby accommodations.
Prepare to be mesmerized by the natural wonders of this hidden gem. As you venture into this lush and verdant jungle paradise, expect to be greeted by towering limestone cliffs, cascading waterfalls, and emerald-green lakes that shimmer in the sunlight.
You can choose to embark on a jungle trek, cruise along the Sok River, or spend a night in a floating bungalow, Khao Sok offers a myriad of unforgettable experiences for nature lovers and adventure seekers alike.
Get ready to immerse yourself in the breathtaking beauty of Khao Sok National Park and discover why it’s considered one of Thailand’s most captivating destinations.
Where to stay in Khao Sok?
I highly recommend staying in Coco Hostel and booking the Khao Sok National Park tour package with them in advance. It is a three-day and two-night package that includes:
Day 1: Check in and relax, in the evening go for a night safari.
Day 2: Breakfast, overnight trip to Lake with guide, meals, and jungle hike. Stay in rustic floating bungalows on the lake with shared bathrooms.
Day 3: Breakfast, morning wildlife boat trip safari, lunch, tour ends at 3 pm in Khao Sok.
What to do in Khao Sok?
Khao Sok Check List:
- Khao Sok National Park floating bungalow experience
- Kayak, snorkel, swim
- Wildlife Safari
My personal experience and thoughts on Khao Sok
Visiting this park was one of my Thailand bucket list activities, considering all the hype I was continuously hearing about it. And, it did not disappoint. It’s one of my top highlights from my whole month’s trip to Thailand.
The longtail boat ride through the park felt surreal- finally getting to live the moment I had watched countless others do so on TikTok. Everything was picturesque- the limestone cliffs, the blue waters.
The floating bungalow experience was one-of-a-kind. My room had a see-through glass panel, and door that opened right up to the clear warm water from my private balcony.
The tour Coco Hostel offers provides you with everything you need to fully experience all that Khao Sok has to offer. From a safari wildlife tour to delicious local cuisines, a jungle hike, and so much more.
I have this experience on repeat in my memories, and I can’t recommend it enough!
Days 12- 16: Ao Nang Beach, Krabi
Transportation from Khao Sok to Ao Nang Beach, Krabi
To transfer from Khao Sok to Ao Nang, you will need to book a 4-hour van ride. This can be done online with 12Go Asia, or I was able to easily book it through Coco Hostel.
What to expect while in Ao Nang Beach, Krabi?
Ao Nang had a very tourist vibe for me. It was a bigger city than what I had experienced in the past few islands, with more people, shops, and restaurants.
You’ll be enchanted by the pristine beauty of Ao Nang Beach, a stunning coastal paradise. As you step onto the soft, powdery sands and gaze out at the turquoise waters stretching to the horizon, you’ll feel a sense of serenity wash over you.
Whether you’re basking in the warm tropical sun, exploring the vibrant underwater world through snorkeling or diving, or embarking on an island-hopping adventure to nearby gems like Railay Beach and Phi Phi Islands, Ao Nang Beach offers a wealth of unforgettable experiences for beach lovers and outdoor enthusiasts alike.
So, get ready to immerse yourself in the idyllic charm of Ao Nang Beach and create memories that will last a lifetime.
Where to stay in Ao Nang Beach, Krabi?
I stayed at Nomads hostel while in Ao Nang. It was one of my favorite hostels I stayed at while traveling around Thailand. It offers clean and spacious dorms with big beds that also have a privacy curtain.
Not only was it aesthetically pleasing, from its neon light decorations and aesthetic patio and pool, but also had the vibe any backpacker would be looking for.
The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. It also had one of the largest pools I’ve seen at a hostel, with a nearby ping pong table and swing.
It is such a social hostel, and making friends by the pool or going out on one of its daily activities or hosted tours provides endless opportunities to get to know others.
What to do in Ao Nang Beach, Krabi?
Ao Nang Checklist:
- Monkey Trail
- Ao Nang Night Market
- Island Hopping Tour
- Ziplining
My personal experience and thoughts on Ao Nang Beach, Krabi
After visiting the relatively small towns of all the previous destinations in our itinerary, it was nice arriving at Ao Nang’s city vibes.
Ao Nang was bigger and more populated than the other towns. However, it’s still a walkable town, whether wandering to the night market or to its white sand beaches.
It’s also much more touristic, with shops and restaurants lining the strip to fulfill any desire. Ao Nang had an equal balance of tourists to backpackers in my personal experience. There are plenty of spots to grab a drink, find a souvenir, or book a tour to do for the day.
Days 16-19: Railay Beach, Krabi
Transportation from Ao Nang Beach, Krabi to Railay Beach, Krabi
You’ll need to book a water taxi to get you from Ao Nang Beach to Railay Beach. It’s a short ride of 30 minutes from Ao Nam Mao Pier to Floating Pier East Railay. You can book this either through 12Go Asia or the local transportation office right near the beach as I had the day before leaving for Railay Beach.
What to expect while in Railay Beach, Krabi?
Railay Beach is small and extremely walkable. There aren’t many places to explore while here, but the places that are here are worth indulging in every minute you have while on this picturesque beach.
Setting foot on Railay Beach will feel like being transported to a tropical paradise. With its towering limestone cliffs, crystal-clear waters, and pristine stretches of sand, Railay Beach is a haven for beach lovers and adventure seekers alike.
Whether you’re rock climbing on the iconic cliffs, kayaking through hidden lagoons, or simply soaking up the sun on the beach, Railay offers a handful of unforgettable experiences for travelers of all interests.
Get ready to explore this breathtaking destination and discover why Railay Beach is considered one of Thailand’s most iconic and picturesque locations.
Where to stay in Railay Beach, Krabi?
I stayed in Social Quarters, though I highly recommend booking your accommodation with Blanco Hostel.
Though, I didn’t book my accommodation directly with Blanco-a partner hostel of Social Quarters- I still had full access to its pool, bars, restaurant, common areas, and my favorite, the stunning panoramic view over the beach and surrounding mountains I loved to journal by.
Blanco is a resort-style air-conditioned hostel that hosts regular social activities. So, you can easily meet other fellow backpackers, while also still being able to get a good night’s rest. This is a major bonus, especially considering my dorm in Social Quarters was located right next to a club that would play blaring music late into the night.
What to do in Railay Beach, Krabi?
Railay Beach Checklist:
- Rock Climbing
- Life changing sunsets
- Island Tours
My personal experience and thoughts on Railay Beach, Krabi
I was warned by multiple backpackers along my Thailand route of Railay Beach’s life-changing sunsets. They were not wrong.
The position the sun takes to commence its descent is located right in the middle of its white sand beach and between two rising limestone cliffs. It looks like a literal stage just for the sun, and the beach becomes jam-packed with onlookers waiting for the show to start every evening.
I was surprised to find out how well-known and popular the area was for rock climbing enthusiasts. I had the pleasure of meeting one who had the kindness of guiding me on one of the nearby rock climbing routes.
The island felt personable. It was small and easy to navigate, yet still had a good amount of things to do and explore. Or, if you just want to relax, it’s ideal for that as well.
Days 19-23: Phi Phi Island
Transportation from Railay Beach, Krabi to Koh Phi Phi Island
You can take a 40-minute speedboat ride to take you from Railay Beach to Koh Phi Phi. You can book this either with 12GO Asia or the local transportation office as I had the morning of departure.
What to expect while on Koh Phi Phi Island?
Koh Phi Phi is the most touristic out of all the islands this itinerary has covered so far. There is a main strip where the pier will drop you off that is lined with restaurants, shops, stalls, and so much more.
Koh Phi Phi Island is a tropical paradise renowned for its stunning beaches, crystal-clear waters, and vibrant marine life. As you step onto the powdery white sands and take in the breathtaking views of towering limestone cliffs and turquoise seas, you’ll feel like you’ve stepped into a postcard-perfect dream.
Whether you’re snorkeling among colorful coral reefs, exploring hidden coves and caves, or simply relaxing on the beach with a refreshing coconut drink in hand, Koh Phi Phi promises an unforgettable island getaway.
Get ready to immerse yourself in the natural beauty and laid-back atmosphere of Koh Phi Phi Island and create memories that will last a lifetime.
Where to stay in Koh Phi Phi Island?
I stayed at Magic Hostel in an 8-bedroom door. It is a small hostel that is kept very clean and has pretty spacious dorms. I loved that it is located only a few minutes walk from the main strip, so it’s easy to be near the action but still completely possible to get a peaceful night’s rest.
What to do in Koh Phi Phi island?
Koh Phi Phi checklist:
- Hike up to the Viewpoint during sunrise and sunset
- Full-day island tour
- Maya Bay
- James Bond Island
- Phi Phi Reggae Bar
- Thai Massage
My personal experience and thoughts on Koh Phi Phi Island
Koh Phi Phi was perhaps the most stunning island I had visited on this itinerary. It had vibrant lush greenery and the clearest waters I had seen in Thailand.
Some of my best memories from my month’s trip in this stunning country are sitting on the rock at the top of Koh Phi Phi’s viewpoint, and indulging in panoramic views of the island. I’d watch it come to life every morning, then again in the evening, when the sun would impressively paint the sky with hues of lilacs and deep oranges as it exchanged places with the rising moon.
Unfortunately, that was the most I was able to do since I stepped on a sea urchin on my second day on the island. But, I would’ve loved to have taken advantage of all the island hopping tours offered while staying on Phi Phi island. The destinations these tours take you are to some of the most popular beaches and islands known in Thailand.
1 month in Thailand itinerary: Northern Thailand
Days 23-28: Chiang Mai
Transportation from Phi Phi Island to Chiang Mai
Transportation from Phi Phi Island, Krabi to Chiang Mai
- Ferry
- Van or Taxi

With this transfer from Phi Phi Island to Chiang Mai, you’ll be hitting all three modes of transportation in one day.

Lastly, you will need to take a two-hour flight from Krabi International Airport (KBV) to Chiang Mai International Airport (CNX).

Where to stay in Chiang Mai?
I stayed in Potae’s House while visiting Chiang Mai. I had a very pleasant and comfortable experience while staying in my 6 capsule female-only dorm. The hostel was kept very clean and offered various discounted tours for its fellow backpackers to book.
It’s also in a very convenient location in Chiang Mai, a few minutes walk from a beautiful temple, a nearby local food market, and a Jazz Bar.
What to do in Chiang Mai?
Chiang Mai Checklist:
- Elephant Sanctuary
- Chom Cafe and Restaurant
- Half-day cooking class at an organic farm in Chiang Mai
- Northern flavors- Chiang Mai food tour
- Day trip from Chiang Mai to Chiang Rai
- Tour of Temples [White Temple, Black Temple, Blue Temple]
- Chiang Mai Night Bazaar
My personal experience and thoughts on Chiang Mai
I thoroughly enjoyed my time exploring Chiang Mai. It’s a very lively yet peaceful city.
My main excitement in visiting Chiang Mai was finally crossing off my dream of visiting an elephant sanctuary in Thailand. Though I was eager to participate in a tour where I’d get to be up close and personal with the elephants, like bathing or feeding them, it wasn’t the experience I ended up having.
I learned from a fellow traveler how unethical such sanctuaries are, and decided to join her in visiting Elephant Nature Park, a sanctuary in Chiang Mai she previously spent a week volunteering. My experience at this specific sanctuary revealed to me how committed the staff and organization are as a whole to ensuring the elephants feel safe, respected, and comfortable.
Another bucket list activity I was super excited to cross off during my time in Chiang Mai was visiting Chiang Rai to see some of the most stunning temples in all of Thailand. Instead of spending a night or two in Chiang Rai, I decided to take a day trip to Chiang Rai via a temple tour from Chiang Mai.
My third bucket list activity I was looking forward to crossing off while in Chiang Mai was participating in a Thai cooking class. I got to learn so much about Thai cuisine and spices, and thoroughly devoured all three courses I proudly created throughout the class!
Despite various opportunities arising where I could complete these activities in an earlier city, I wanted to specifically wait for my time in Chiang Mai to do them, and I am so grateful that I did!
Days 28- 30: Bangkok
Transportation from Chiang Mai to Bangkok
You can book a bus ride from Chiang Mai to Bangkok. This 9.5 to 10.5-hour ride can be booked online with 12Go Asia or at the local bus station as I had the day of my departure.
What to expect while in Bangkok?
Prepare to be captivated by the bustling energy and vibrant culture of Bangkok, the dynamic capital city of Thailand.
From towering skyscrapers to ornate temples, bustling markets, and lively street food stalls, Bangkok is a city of contrasts where tradition meets modernity at every turn. Whether you’re exploring the historic grandeur of the Grand Palace, cruising along the Chao Phraya River, or sampling delectable local dishes at the famed street food markets, Bangkok offers an endless array of experiences to delight and inspire.
Get ready to immerse yourself in the sensory overload of sights, sounds, and flavors that await you in the bustling metropolis of Bangkok.
Where to stay in Bangkok?
Luk Hostel‘s modern design and pristine amenities made me feel like I was in an actual hotel. This was indulging for me after having been backpacking Asia for two months at this point in my journey.
Its rooms weren’t the most spacious, but this is the ONLY negative experience I had at Luk- by far my favorite hostel I stayed at while in Asia. Its complimentary breakfast was a filling and delicious meal. The rooftop and glass house were common areas I stayed for hours in, and the beds had privacy curtains that allowed me to easily fall asleep.
Not only does Luk have everything you may need inside of it as a hostel, but it’s also perfectly situated a few minutes from the main road of Chinatown. You’ll be spoiled with an endless array of Asian cuisine that the stalls and restaurants line this strip will present your way.

My personal experience and thoughts on Bangkok
Bangkok has major big city vibes- if that’s your thing, you’ll love it. Personally, it isn’t my favorite but my experience in Bangkok was truly elevated by my stay in Luk Hostel and being so close to Chinatown.
Bangkok offers a wide variety of things to do and places to explore, there truly is something for everyone. Whether it’s filling yourself with as much Thai food and delicious street food as you possibly can before leaving the country or taking a day trip to a nearby ancient city.
1 Month in Thailand Itinerary FAQs
Is 1 month in Thailand long enough?
Absolutely not- (in my humble opinion). It’s a huge country in Southeast Asia with so much beauty and experience to offer. And each region in itself has its unique beauty and activities that people can choose from.
I understand not many people can spend a month in this stunning country, but, this one-month backpacking route itinerary month will at least give you a good idea of each area and region you visit. Providing you a taste of the major city centers of the north of the country while indulging in the islands of Southern Thailand.
Is it safe to visit Thailand as a solo female traveler?
I felt so safe traveling in Thailand as a solo female traveler and is one of the top destinations I recommend solo female travelers visit, especially if they are still gaining experience traveling alone.
Whether I was walking the streets alone in the dead of night or before the break of dawn, I never felt unsafe or in danger. I can confidently suggest Thailand be your next solo travel destination as a female backpacker.
